Bird painting is an artistic genre with one of the longest-standing traditions at MEISSEN - one that reaches back all the way to the early 18th century. Only a handful of specialised porcelain painters have mastered this skill and are able to apply these realistic and finely detailed motifs to porcelain. When used to decorate a wide range of vases from the "MEISSEN® Cosmopolitan" collection and set against a minimalist white background, the shimmering painted images truly come to life. The designs, some of which are new creations, were inspired and influenced by paintings and illustrations from past centuries.
